The highlight of the 2009 Tattersalls consignment was the Pivotal colt out of the Darshaan mare Blue Symphony. A half-brother to Fantasia he was purchased by Michael Goodbody for 450,000gns on behalf of Thomas Barr. This colt was bred by Fittocks Stud and consigned by Highclere, as was his half-sister Pink Symphony who realised 400,000gns in 2008 as a yearling.
In 2007, the Gone West colt out of the Sadler's Wells mare Myth To Reality sold to John Ferguson for 1,000,000gns.
Highclere Stud's homebred out of Model Queen sold for 600,000gns in 2006, and his half-brother sold for 430,000gns the previous year. The latter, named Regal Parade, has won several Stakes races including the Sprint Cup (Gr.1) at Haydock and the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Another winner at Royal Ascot for Highclere was Flashmans Papers in the Windsor Castle Stakes. Also, the Highclere bred and top lot at DBS St Leger Sales in 2007, Ouqba, went on to win the Jersey Stakes (Gr.3) at Royal Ascot and was second in the Challenge Stakes (Gr.2) in 2009.
Further Highclere Stud bred and sold success on the racecourse includes Group 1 Moyglare winner, Lemon Soufflé, who was the Top Filly of the 1993 European Two-Year-Old Classifications, and other Stakes winners or perfomers: Birdie, Captain Hurricane, Caramba, Fickle, Lyric Fantasy, Niche, Tincture, Tora Bora, Smirk and Stetchworth Prince.
High-priced sales success is not new to Highclere. The multiple Stakes winning and Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest winner, May Ball, sold for 550,000 to Shadai Farm at Tattersalls December Broodmare Sale in 2006.
In 1989 Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks winner Roseate Tern sold for 1,100,000gns at the same sale. Her dam, Rosia Bay gave the stud some international sales success when selling at Keeneland for $600,000 the year before having been purchased for only 6,200gns.
